Malta’s season in the Rugby Europe Men’s Trophy brings two more home games to the Tony Bezzina Stadium in Paola: Malta v Sweden on Saturday 14 November 2026 and Malta v Czechia on Saturday 27 February 2027. Both start at 13:00.
The fixtures
- Saturday 14 November 2026, 13:00: Malta v Sweden, Tony Bezzina Stadium, Paola
- Saturday 27 February 2027, 13:00: Malta v Czechia, Tony Bezzina Stadium, Paola
They follow Malta v Germany on 7 November, so November brings two home internationals in eight days.
Why these games matter
Malta won promotion to the Trophy in May 2026, beating Austria 39-13 in the access play-off at Ta’ Qali. This season they face Czechia, Sweden, Germany, Denmark and Lithuania in the division below the Rugby Europe Championship.
Czechia are the defending Trophy champions, which makes the February game the toughest test of Malta’s home campaign. Sweden arrive a week after Germany, giving the home crowd a quick chance to see how the team has settled into the higher level.
Tickets
Unlike the free Germany match, these two games are ticketed:
- Adult: €20
- Child (under 16): €5
- 2 Match Combo, Adult: €30 (Sweden and Czechia)
- 2 Match Combo, Child (under 16): €8 (Sweden and Czechia)
Prices exclude booking fee. Special Needs Entry is free, and the ticket is only valid when you show your Blue Card at the gate. The combo is the best value if you plan to go to both, saving €10 per adult.
New to rugby?
Each side fields 15 players over two 40-minute halves. A try is worth five points and the conversion that follows adds two, while penalty kicks and drop goals are worth three. You do not need to know much more than that to enjoy the afternoon.
