This Halloween, Żabbar is going underground. Puregreen’s Terrur festival takes over Misraħ is-Sliem for three nights, from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November, with three separate scare experiences: a haunted WWII shelter, a haunted Maltese band club and a timed escape challenge. Each has its own ticket and its own age rules, so there’s something for brave teenagers, families and adults who want the full fright.
Terror WW2 Shelter
The headline scare. You head down into a World War II shelter beneath Żabbar and make your way through dimly lit passageways, where eerie sounds break the silence and live actors bring terrifying scenes to life. Expect confined spaces, uneven ground, sudden scares, disturbing sounds and flashing lights.
- When: timed entry every 15 minutes, Friday 30 October from 19:00, Saturday 31 October from 18:00 and Sunday 1 November from 18:00
- Age: 14 and over (under 14s are not admitted, and ID may be checked)
- Tickets: €10
Il-Każin tal-Waħx: The Haunted Band Club
A very Maltese twist on the haunted house. Band clubs are at the heart of village life, but this one has a story nobody dares to tell: the committee is gathering again, the musicians are taking their places, and none of them should still be here. Live actors play the club’s strange members, and you are their visitor.
This is the one for families. Children can go in with a parent or guardian (under 16s must be accompanied throughout). It’s still designed to be spooky, so think about how easily your little ones scare before booking.
- When: timed entry slots, Friday 30 October from 19:00, Saturday 31 October from 18:00 and Sunday 1 November from 18:00
- Tickets: €5
Escape from the Terrone Shelter
Part escape room, part horror walk. Inside a haunted WWII shelter, your group has 20 minutes to solve the clues and recover every hidden object while actors do their best to rattle you. Find everything in time and you get your money back.
- When: timed sessions, Friday 30 October from 19:15, Saturday 31 October from 18:30 and Sunday 1 November from 18:00
- Age: strictly 18+
- Group size: up to 10 people per session; arrive at least 15 minutes early
- Heads up: actors may touch you, but you must never touch them back
- Tickets: €10 per person, or €8 each when you book a group of 10 (€80)

Planning your night
The festival poster also lists a Terrorito kids area, a pumpkin patch play area and entertainment by Sander on the square. All three experiences are at Misraħ is-Sliem in Żabbar, so you can easily do two or even all three in one evening. Sessions are timed and each slot holds only a small group, so book ahead, especially for Saturday 31 October. Sunday is the shortest night, with the last entries around 21:00.
